Family Information Salt Lake CAP Parent Organization Policy Council Required by Federal Law at the Grantee Level At all times, current parents must constitute no less than 51% of the total members of Policy Council members may be from the community. Each Parent Committee elects two representatives and possible alternate. Head Start Director and Parent Involvement Coordinator staff support. Parent Committee The Parent Committee is organized at each center. All parents in the center are invited to participate in the meetings. The Parent Committee participates in developing and implementing center activities and services; planning, conducting and participating in programs and activities for parents and staff; and participating in the hiring of Head Start staff. The Parent Committee selects two parents to attend Policy Council and also designates alternates. Head Start Classroom Committee All parents of enrolled children are automatically members of the Classroom Committee Family Advocate staff support.
